What is the Kick the Tires Promo?

The Kick the Tires Promo gives you as a seller the chance to advertise up to 10 parts for free for 30 days. If you sell any of those parts you will be assessed the 'Fee / item sold' at the end of the 30 days. If any of the parts posted sell you may post other items so that you may have up to the maximum number of parts advertised. This gives you the chance to advertise at no cost to you. Register for it here.


If I sign up as a buyer and later want to sell parts, can I upgrade or change my profile to be a seller?

YES! Login and click on the "My Account" link at the top of the page. In the "Open your own store" section click on the "open your own parts store" link. Fill out the Store name and PayPal information and you're set. Now you can add inventory and sell parts.


So, is someone "out there" going to have access to my info once I sign up?

Your general location is shown to prospective buyers so that they know how far it is for shipping or pickup of the parts you have for sale. They don't have any other information on you until you buy or sell something from them. Then they will need it to complete the transaction.


How long do items stay in my cart?

Until you remove them, currently there is no expiration on the shopping cart. They may not be available forever as the first person who completes the checkout with the items will be the new owner.


If I put an item in my cart, is it "reserved" for me until the cart empties, or is it available for someone else to purchase?

It is still available for everybody else until you click "checkout with paypal" on the checkout page.


How do I sell an item?

Register as a seller or upgrade your buyer account to a seller
Click on 'My Account' on the header bar

Click on 'Manage my inventory' in the Store panel
Add a part
Save the part

Register
Login
Add item to shopping cart
View shopping cart
Checkout using PayPal


How do I search an item?

Input search criteria in search box
Click Find my part
Review search results for available parts
Click on 'buy it' link


How do I register as a buyer?

Click Register at the top of the page

Fill out the registration page fields
Check the 'agree to terms' checkbox
Click on the 'create my account' button


How do I register as a seller?

Click Register at the top of the page

Check the Sell Items checkbox
Fill out the seller information fields
Check the 'agree to terms' checkbox
Click on the 'create my account' button


How do I upgrade to a seller?

Login
Click on 'My Account' on the header bar

Scroll down to the 'Open your own store' panel
Click on the 'open your own parts store' link
Fill out the 'Add a new store' page fields
Click Create a store


How do I login?

Input your username and password
Click on the Login button


How do I contact a seller?

Click on the seller's name on the part you are interested in
Click on the 'contact seller' link
Input your contact information and question
Click 'send email' button


How do I contact a buyer?

Open the email from the buyer and click on the hyperlink to open the contact seller page
Input your contact information and question
Click 'send email' button


How do I upgrade or downgrade store?

Login
Click on 'My Account' on the header bar

Under your parts store name, click on 'Change my store'
Select the store type that you wish to change to
Click 'Submit change'


How do I manage my store inventory?

Login
Click on 'My Account' on the header bar

Click on 'Manage my inventory' in the Store panel
Add a part
Save the part
